Short Overview

Training In Lieu of Experience (TILE) package for Courtesy Driving School Students

It is compulsory to attend the 2 day theory course (18 hours) to obtain a Learners Permit. At the conclusion of the TILE Course, you will be issued with a certificate of completion. The certificate is to be taken to Transport SA to obtain your learners permit. Followed by a minimum of 18 hours of practical training and assessment.

TILE Courses are held on the weekends on a fortnightly basis (7.30am – 5.30pm). TILE Courses are limited to 10 students per course so bookings are essential. TILE Courses are NOT required for Primary Producer Permit holders.

We do not offer TILE module 1 & 2 as a stand alone course, all modules must be booked together e.g theory and practical. Conditions apply.

Detailed Course Information

Pre-Requisites

Minimum age – 19 years
Must have held a Class C (Car) Licence for at least 2 years (including “P” Plates).
Overseas Licence evidence MUST be provided if SA Licence has been held for less then 2 years.
Primary Producer Permit Applications available through Transport SA only. Pre-requisites and conditions may vary.

Logbook Format Competency Based Training & Assessments (CBT & A)

Car to HC Practical Courses can only be conducted by the Logbook Competency Based Training & Assessment Course. VORT is NOT available to TILE or Primary Producer Permit students.
Training will depend on the Government standard as per the Logbook format.
The average time taken for a log book course is 18 hours; however this may vary depending on the ability and aptitude of the student.

Payment Methods

Payment is due on the day of the training. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card or an account may be arranged at our discretion.
Please note Courtesy Driving School accepts Visa and Mastercard only. There is a 1.5% surcharge on all credit card transactions.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation fee will apply to any cancellations made with less than 72 hours notice. This fee is to cover administration costs & instructor’s fee.

What to Bring?

Current South Australian Drivers licence.
TILE Certificate
Learners Permit
Primary Producers Permit (if applicable)
A Work Diary is required to be obtained by students conducting training in non metropolitan areas prior to commencement of training.
Appropriate footwear must be worn during training e.g. work boots, sandshoes, etc. No open footwear is allowed. High Visibility Shirts or Vests are to be worn at all times. Safety Gloves are optional when conducting vehicle checks, etc.
Courtesy Driving School supplies all vehicles.
The applicant will be required to be present at least 15 minutes before the commencement of each lesson.
